An Ode for a Someone, Written by a No One

So I guess
	I'm like a book
that you saw on the shelf,
	perhaps the title caught your eye,

& you picked it up
	& read the first few chapters

& said "enough"

	& quietly closed the cover.

So now I sit
	in your bookcase,
top shelf,
	way in the back,

	just gathering dust
but I'm not worth the fuss

	to brush off & open again.
